Taser Chess

Fletcher Heisler - The Internet

Taser Chess invites the human participant in with flashing lights. Attach an electrode pad to your arm, then follow the instructions on the display. Play against the AI engine and receive real-time feedback in the form of variable electrical shocks whenever you make an illegal move or a blunder. Or, play a timed game against another willing human participant.

Custom Python code relies on an open source neural network called Stockfish, which is the strongest CPU chess engine in the world. Stockfish has an estimated Elo rating of 3,634; a rating of 2,500 qualifies as a chess Grandmaster.

The only winning move is not to play.

Fletcher enjoys building things that make people say “how!?” followed by “why!?”
